review 1: This book reinforces what we all know deep down to be true, but are too busy or preoccupied to practice in our own lives. The experiences of older individuals are valuable lessons readily available to most of us, and yet we don't take the time to glean. I think one of my favorite sound bites is to "think small" - to find happiness in the little daily activities and experiences we can engage with every day of our lives.
review 2: Probably the best "advice" book I've ever read. Very enjoyable, highly readable, and downright profound at times. The author and his staff interviewed and polled over 1000 people, ages from late 70s to early 90s mostly, about what did they deem to be most important as they looked back on their lives. Not necessarily a lot of surprise
... mores (Family was more important than work, Don't worry so much over small stuff, etc) but just a really neat way of compiling "Life Lessons". Most Highly Recommended. less

Bland writing and obvious wisdom. My expectations exceeded the book's merit. Very disappointing.

Great book! Recommend for all ages to read. Good perspective for important topics in life!

Pretty trite and predicable. No one seems to have noticed the internal contradictions.
