review 1: This really was a cute book about ice skating. The dialogue flowed well. The storyline flowed well. The story had a good arc. It was quick. The only thing that I found a tiny bit odd was that the language seemed a lot older than a thirteen-year-old would use. I don't know any thirteen-year-olds, though. And, I don't know any competitive skaters, so perhaps it was just a situation I was unfamiliar with. Anyway, I had fun with it.
review 2: I think that upper elementary and middle school girls will really like this book. Claire who lives in upstate New York wins a scholarship to train with elite skaters in Lake Placid, NY. Although she is very excited about the opportunity, it means juggling school and skating and missing out on things with her friends. C
