review 1: This was a very hot book from the start. Valentin was held for ten years as a sex slave he was rescued along with his friend. Valentin has insatiable sex drive. He married the daughter of the man that rescued him. Sara is just as insatiable as he is Valentin is unsure if she will be able to handle his drive until she proves him wrong. The sex scenes in this book was hot as hell. The book did has some suspense although I did feel it could have went into Valentin relationship with his father. This was a good read.
review 2: Definitely kinky. The two main characters had an instant "click", but unfortunately as a reader there was not a whole lot of development in their relationship other than Valentin's recognition of Sara's intelligence with numbers and their for
... moretuitous discovery that they both enjoyed kinky sex and a LOT OF IT. The whodunit was pretty obvious, even to a complete dunce like me (I lose at Clue, every single time), and why Valentin was unable to share his history with Sara when he shared it with so many other people was hard for me to believe. On the other hand, I appreciated the self-awareness and emotional maturity that Sara displayed with regards to Valentin - whether that was believable for a single, spinster virgin or not - and I also liked that Peter was not introduced as a future romantic hero for the series. He was included in the story, and I don't doubt that he will be featured in book #2, but no romantic partner was introduced for him in book #1. [I HATE when both halves of the romantic couple of the next book are introduced and meet-cuted in the first one.] And this is shallow, but I am happy to report (THANK GOD) that there was no trite moment when Valentin "imagines Sara carrying his child". I cannot STAND that phrase/concept and somehow it works its way into practically every romance. So I had to give an extra half star just for that. :-) less
