review 2: Kate Quinn is a very good writer. Her characters linger with you long after the novel is over. A couple of them do a 360 with their circumstances and attitudes. Lollia became my favorite by the end she actually understood more of the world then the other three. Yet she still was able to have happiness by the end. Marcella is also a good character and she gets what's coming to her but you can't help feeling a little sorry for her even though its her own fault. You're drawn in from the beginning and you're sorry to see it end. less
