review 1: This book was unfortunately hard to get into at first but by the 10th chapter is started picking up and when it started picking up it PICKED UP! I was glad I hung in there to finish this book. Benjirou Doree was a strong demanding character. He had my full attention from beginning to end. The storyline itself was good but I was really hoping to get a little more suspense out of it when things started hitting the fan about the death of Ben's family members. I was also hoping for a little more deep and heartfelt connection between Tavy and Ben. I mean don't get me wrong, when they hooked up the 2nd time it was good and the connection was there but I was hoping for a more deeper reunion, more intensity. I would read another book by this author.By the way...Even though I love ... morethe name Benjirou I wasn't quite sure whey he is half English, half Indian but has a Japanese-French name...strange that.
review 2: Seven years ago Tavy lost her heart to Ben in India where they both lived for time, but her aunts disapproval and his family situation made him go back to England and she stayed in India. They meet again and the sparks are still there for both of them, but he is full of secrets and mystery now. She goes to him for some help and he decides to help her not knowing at the time that her inquiry has to do with him and his past. Secrets, social strata, family obligations, passion and true love, and lies and truths make this a good read!! less
