review 1: 3.5 This book reminded me that clean, contemporary, well written novels can still be relevant. I enjoyed the characters and relationships and liked suspending my reality for a bit while I delved into this book. There were faults (some story lines that were not fully flushed out, characters that could have had more depth, a little reaching when it came to the food theme, and a touch predictable), but I was excited every night to pick it up and stayed up way too late to finish it. When it ended I had a smile on my face and wished that there were still a few more pages. Recommended.
review 2: I read this quickly so it obviously caught my interest. However, the characters sometimes felt manufactured and you knew that Lizzy and Nick we're going to end up together th
... moree moment he was introduced. There were too many motifs trying to be woven in and many threads were introduced too late in the plot to be relevant. Toward the middle it got more real but then the end felt like it got cut short and not wrapped up very well. less

Not as cute as Dear Mr. Knightley, but still a warm book about relationships and family.

Loved it. Cried more than once and loved the Austen references.
