review 1: I feel like the first two went together and the third book is completely about the fantasy not all human people. It would have been cool if the books all intertwined somehow. They base it in the same location but have all the characters some how interlinked with each other. They were fun reads but probably worth the 2$ it was. I wouldn't spend anymore then that. First book by Kathleen Brooks - I liked the love story and relationship between Taylor and Trey. Every relationship should be as strong as theirs is. I felt like Taylor's parents gave me anxiety just reading it. I wish she had just taken care of them the first time. The anticipation with Trey's proposal when, how and if, is it their sign of never getting engaged. I am glad it didn't leave me with one of them actual... morely dying. I don't ever feel good about those types of endings. It was a good read, when books make me feel anxious then I know it got to me. I will be interested with the other two. Second by Christie Craig-I liked this book too. It had some suspense but it was mainly about tryin to love and trust again. When people hurt you there is a trust that you have to gain back and it's tough sometimes. Listening to your heart and really doing what you feel is true to you. It's great to get your feelings out because life is too short to be afraid and not take chances. I did like the dinosaur poop that was funny. It was a simple story and cute. Third by Robyn Peterman-I love vampires, werewolves and dragon/fairy type stories so this one was cool. I didn't expect it to be since the other two were about humans. The twist in the book where she finds out all of her thoughts about this dude was a lie and she got tricked pretty badly was great. I am glad both werewolves finally got it on. At this point I wouldn't care if they caught the bad guys because it seemed to be more about the relationship. Well now that I read the ending it was great. The new idea of vampires and Dragons and creating a new species, could be taken to a new level of books. I laughed out loud when she said "noggin." I would have to say I liked this book the best.
review 2: If Kathleen Brooks is attached to it, I'm going to buy it! I love - LOVE - the Bluegrass Series so to see Taylor & Trey get their own novella was a delight. Their story focuses around Hung Island and the story behind it was absolutely hysterical! I laughed out loud several times during the book. Trey is desperate to propose to Taylor, but each proposal gets messed up somehow. Throw in her crazy parents, a meddling town, someone trying to sabotage Taylor's career, and all of your favorite characters from Keeneston throwing in their two cents, and you have one heck of a great read! Loved it!This was my first Christie Craig novel and I wasn't disappointed! I was drawn to Reece and Turner's story immediately! Reece returns to Hung to nurse her broken heart. She's running from the man she knew as Trey, but in reality was Turner, an undercover police officer who was working a case involving Reece's brother. Turner realizes that Reece's life is in jeopardy and follows her to Hung. Turner realizes his feelings for Reece as so much more than like and does everything in his power to protect her. Reece tries to fight her feelings for Turner, but can't fight the pull she has towards the man. Throw in unusual characters from Hung and you have a great, suspenseful short story! This was also my first Robyn Peterman Zahn story. Honestly, I almost didn't read it. Werewolf and Vampire stories aren't my thing. However, I decided to give the first few pages a try to see how it went. O! M! G! I LOVED IT! I never, ever thought I'd say that, but this book was so well written and had me cracking up, I couldn't put it down! You get a taste of Hank (the sheriff) in the other two books, but to find out he's a werewolf wasn't what I was expecting. He is tough, hot, and so very alpha! Essie was his mate, or so she thought, until he cheated. But did he? Her return to Hung makes her face her past with Hank who is still very much in love with her.All three were great, fun reads! Highly recommended! less
