review 1: This was an alright/cute short story. I would have liked to have known what Millicent looked like or even her age. But whatever. I guess it's to be expected with a short story. I could definitely see this being something longer. So the Island they were staying on was? Spaniard Island, Spaniard's Island, or Spanish Island? At the end when Brimm asks Millicent to go on a ride with him, after receiving her wedding present....what exactly did she mean when she said, "Quite the contrary, husband." She didn't want to go on a long ride because...? If this would have been a more present time scenario, I would have assumed she wanted to have sex with him, so I'm not sure.
review 2: I often don't see the point of these short stories; they are simply frustrating because th
... moreey are so short! This could have a lot of potential for a novel. I know it's like a sort of small prequel to the following books in The Secret Lives of Will Tucker series, but it feels like a waste of time. There isn't enough time to develop anything, so the result is one-dimensional characters, implausible plotline and fake emotions. It was a cute little thing, to be sure, and would've made a really good story if it had been longer. I will add a 0.5 to my rating since it was the very first thing I read on my new Kindle, and I loved the experience! :) less
