review 1: I read the book because my sister was reading it so I wanted to see if i could finish it before her. The setting is in Echo's and Noah's high school. They meet in the counseling office because they are both forced to go to mandatory counseling sessions. The other main places would be Echo's garage, and Noah's basement. I like the way that Katie writes the book, she writes it in both Echo's point of view and Noah's point of view so you don't miss out on anything that the two people are thinking. By telling both parts of the story, you know how both of them feel about the what happens and the things each other do. Otherwise I thought the book was okay, but it was to predictable, two outcasts, who didn't used to be outcast have problems at home and fall in love. That is the t... moreypical plot for most books. and I personally think they the book should have ended like half way through the book. The ending was pointless. They got together - then broke up - then got back together. Anyone could predict that how the book would end. I think the whole part with the brothers should have happened when they were falling for each other to make the book more interesting. Echo definitely change throughout the book. Echo would not go out in public with out a long sleeve shirt on, she was always hiding her body, but at the end of the book, she didn't care, she wore a strapless dress to the dance/prom (what ever it was) because she didn't care what people thought. She wasn't afraid of what people would think. She also hated her father and her step mom. She was mad that her father was having a kid with her step mom (who was young enough to be sisters with Echo). Echo wanted nothing to do with them for a short period of time. But in the end, she had closure with her family, and she was even okay with her step mom being pregnant. "Her red curls shone in the street light and her spaghetti-strapped tank top" This quote shows how Echo didn't care if people saw her scars anymore. "Alexander shifted in my arms. God, he was so small, and from the giddy looks on my father’s and Ashley’s faces, they already worshiped him." This quote shows how she was okay with her step mom and dad having a baby. I do like how at the end of the book Echo had closure with her father and her step-mom and how Noah had closure with his brothers and their foster parents. The book was neither good or bad. It was an in between. I like the writing and everything of the book, and some of the plot, but otherwise it was to predictable.
