review 1: I enjoy reading all of Kay Hooper's books, and this is not an exception. The story is dark and creepy with pulverized bodies turning up along a river near a the cult compound of the Church of Everlasting Sin. It's South Carolina and girls are getting killed. Agents who are sent in to find information are also disappearing. What is happening at this gated community? The FBI and its Special Crimes Unit with the help of the local police chief devise a plan. Tessa Grey is the next agent to be sent it. She poses as a widow and the owner of a property that the church has its eyes on. She gets inside the compound and finds a community of Stepford Wives. That is until she figures out what's happening: How the Reverend Samuel draws out the psychic abilities of his flock to make him... moreself stronger. In his ceremonies, he uses innocent girls. The agents and the police chief draw out Samuel. A deadly battle ensues with more agents that have psychic abilities appearing.
review 2: This is the 2nd book in the Blood Trilogy and was just as good a read as the 1st- Blood Dreams.Tessa Gray works for Haven under the leadership of Noah Bishop and they are targeting Reverend Samuel and the Church of the Everlasting Sin. Bishop believes that Samuel is a psychic and that something strange and deadly is happening on the church's compound after 2 women are found dead in ways that can't be explained.Can they stop him before more people die or he gets too strong to stop?
