review 1: This is Bishop/SCU Book #11, or 2nd in the Blood Trilogy. I finished the first in the trilogy, and i just HAD to read the next one. Luckily, it was at my library, for my kindle, so I grabbed it. I devoured the book between right before bed Friday night to Sunday. I'd accidentally read the third Blood book a couple years ago without reading the first two, and now I finally got to see what they had been talking about. It's best to read the first one before this, but I guess you could understand a standalone story about a cult, led by a driven, psychopathic man who posesses an insane amount of psychic powers, and the team from Haven, made up of people with psychic and paranormal abilities themselves, along with help from Bishop's FBI special crimes unit (also psychic ability ... morepeople) who are there to stop him. I love the flashbacks, learning how he came into power, and how each of the good guys' powers are changing too. If you like XMen or things like that, you'll love this whole series. Once I finished this, i just HAD to re-read the third one, which is what I'm finishing up right now!
review 2: Number 11 of the Bishop/SCU and number 2 of the Blood trilogy was so much better then Blood Dreams. In the first real continuation of the series Tessa is the agent who must go under cover in the Church of the Everlasting Sin to expose and hopefully eliminate the cult leader Reverand Samuel who is somehow mysteriously murdering church members. The ending was a bit over the top bringing back Dani and Marc from the last novel in the last few pages. Still lots of twists and turns that make Hooper's SCU novels for the most part fun. It will be interesting to see if Hooper ties in Blood Ties, book three of the Blood trilogy in with the other two or not. The background of the abuse Samuel took a child is pretty graphic. I know this is fiction but it is sad that that stuff really does happen out there to some kids. Gives some explanation for his behavior. Doesn't condone it but does show how he became so messed up.A fun quick read. So glad Hooper seems to have recovered from the last book which was bad. less

Once I started reading, I was loathe to put the book down. Definitely an exciting read!

It's one of my favorite kind of books. Especially when it deals with the paranormal.

It was weak throughout, but I kept thinking it had potential. Nope.
