review 1: An interesting take on the hillbilly cannibal family genre--after the first 50 or so brutally violent pages, Burke chooses to focus his story on what happens to survivors and their family after such a traumatic event. Burke is a better writer than many of his contemporaries, although the point of view jumped around a few too many times for me and there were too many characters. Other than that minor complaint, this was a solid journey, but not for the squeamish.
