review 1: Everything about this book worked. The plot, the pace, the character growth, the dialogues, the descriptions, everything fit together beautifully. One of my biggest issues with the prequel was how slow it was in parts. I now think it was just that Ms. Keaton was trying to establish her world and got a little carried away. Not so in this book. The motivations behind characters' behaviour are getting increasingly clearer. All in all, I loved it.Bonus: Sebastian is badass and actually developed into a worthy male lead. :D
review 2: As with the first book, this one started out a little so-so for me, then picked up to where I wouldn't think of putting it down. The heroine seems a little emotionally guarded to me, which makes sense given her history. But I wanted to se
... moree her being distraught about Violet. Instead she seems to calmly go about training to prepare herself to get Violet back. Smarter, perhaps, but less emotional. Good book, and very glad to have book 2 ready and waiting. less
