review 1: Though I agree with many of the other reviewers that this book needed further editing - there are places where it falls slightly flat, and others where you are pulled away from the story by issues with the writing - I enjoyed it very much. The realism of this near-future dystopia, and the normalcy of it all, is what, in my opinion, give the book its charm. I found the ending unsatisfying, which is my primary reason for giving three, not four stars - three and a half would be more accurate.

... morebe okay makes me anxious. Then there is the cold mirror of state sanctioned torture and the surveillance state where no-one questions a life under camera and microphones. Like Macleod's Execution Channel it is hard not to finish it without feeling both angry and scared - not only of / at the future, but of the now. I can't help but think that Today's government would behave like this if they had the technology. less

Quite enjoyable, and an interesting concept but I found the ending quite unsatisfying.
