review 1: Read this series!!!!!! Be warned may contain spoilers.What a spectacular ending to a brilliant series. I absolutely loved Anna dressed in blood and girl of nightmares did not disappoint. Near the end of the book is the best. The beginning I found a bit long because I was like Cas; I wanted to know what happened to Anna and it was taking a while and I just needed to know. The book was well written and the plot was perfect. I would have liked to know more about Morfran and more confirmation with Carmel and Thomas relationship at the end but none the less it was a heart breaking and lovely ending. 'Maybe somewhere my dad is looking on too. Maybe while being batted at by a hair-pulling black cat.' This made me laugh so much. I love Kendare's use of happy and sad. What happened... more to Anna was so sad but nice too, that Anna would finally be at peace. The ending made me feel like I am missing part of my soul, because it's finished and I want to know more. Cas' witty comments were brilliant and I'm not usually a fan of swearing in books because most of the time it does the book no justice and is not used well however the swearing was used brilliant in this book. I was so suspicious of Jestine and you realise that she is not the enemy. Overall this book was brilliant and I loved this series!!!
review 2: The title + cover made me whimper a little. Thankfully it wasn't gory or scary at all (unlike the first book). One thing I liked about the first book was how fast it moved--it was action-packed! And it was kind of fun, not at all angsty like many books about teenagers.So I was disappointed that this book *was* very angsty, and the first half moved very slowly. So slowly that there was only one or two actual plot points. Thankfully the second half picked up and was again nicely paced. I liked the ending, too. Bonus that both of these didn't end in cliffhangers and each could be the 'end' of the story. Overall, this book left me with a distinct feeling of 'meh.' less
