review 1: This was a great story but the poor editing overshadowed it. There were many missing words, extra words, repeated words, wrong words used, etc. With a bit more polish this would be a fabulous book. The characters were engaging. I liked the idea of the different paranormal factions having different enclaves in the town. The world-building was great. I loved Harri's flaming brother and her eclectic band of friends.
review 2: I really enjoyed this. It has the typical Keri Arthur suspense and action you expect. Just no romance to speak of. In some ways, it felt as if you'd been dropped in the middle of the series though. There's a whole backstory with Kaij that could have been a several book series that chronologically would have preceded this. Nice intro to the ... moreset of characters that comprise the backbone of this storyline. less
