review 1: I loved all the Riley Jensen books and when the new series started, I tried one and wasn't quite so keen. I bought this one just to give it another try and was rather disappointed. I think it might have helped if I'd read all the previous books because I found it hard to follow all the different elements. There was a lot of info dumping that I can see was needed but just confused me more. I don't get why there is a picture on the front of a woman with wings. There were no wings in the book unless I missed something. Keys are missing and I suppose I expected one to be found but no, that didn't happen. I'm not sure what did happen. I felt unconnected from the plot and the characters and it kills me to say that because plot and characters are what I loved about the other b... moreooks.
review 2: The hits keep coming for Risa Jones. In the third book in this series Risa is looking for the keys, and also trying to stop a creature that has started killing off certain vampires that are visiting a blood whore club. Things are never easy for her, and her constant companion Azriel. This book follows the same great storytelling of the first two, and adds even more to it. If possible, I would like to say that the books just keep getting better when it comes to this series. I would certainly recommend this to anyone who enjoys reading the paranormal romance genre. less
