review 1: The whole idea of "burying our weapons of rebellion" has taken on a whole new meaning since I read this book. I love reading books that add new insights into the Book of Mormon. This book is no exception. It is a great book. There is a wonderful part to this book, and that is Kevin Hinckley's insight into what happened to one of the people in the Book of Mormon. I don't want to spoil it for the reader so I will leave it at that - well, I will hint that it is one of the converted people. I will also say that, since I read this book, every time I get to that point in the Book of Mormon I have a greater sense of love for that person. I agree with Kevin Hinckley's theory and this person is now one of my heroes from the Book of Mormon and not another person who plays a part in ... morethe story of one of the prophets - he is a stand alone hero because of his decisions to follow the Savior's path. Great book - I highly recommend it!
review 2: I would recommend this book to anyone who has challenges and trials in their life, particularly to those who say, "why." Reading this came at a perfect time for me--not because my life is perfect, but because it isn't. Not only did the Lamanites "lay down the weapons of their rebellion, that they did not fight against God any more," they did not fight against their brethren! The story is fictional, but the principles are truth. less

a good little parable, not the best written, and a bit predictable, but still a good message.
