review 1: After reading 'Undead', I decided to follow up on it's sequel, hoping it would be just as good as the first one. I'm glad to say I was not disappointed.. Normally, I am not one for reading books about zombies, but I was somehow sucked into reading the first one, and have finished the second one in a matter of days. 'Unfed' is fast paced and action-packed, as McKay takes you on 'a school field trip through hell'. Although slightly gory at times, there was nothing unbearable and I really loved reading this book. It was a nice break from the usual and provided a lot of laughs.
review 2: There's a certain amount of teenage humor masquerading as drama, mystery, intrigue, intelligence, and action that one can take and I certainly wasn't a big fan of it here. I can to... morelerate a well-written YA with characters who are for most intents and purposes not talking like real teenagers do for the purposes of plot, characterization, and setting. But, when Roberta (who also is referred to as Bobby, Robbie, and a few other choice names) is being pursued by "zoms", really zombies, and where her mother and new love interest are important to understanding and fixing this "problem", I have a short attention span. less
