Immortals After Dark
review 1: Dark Skye by Kresley Cole. I have always loved the Immortals After Dark series but the last 2-3 books have felt stagnant as if Cole was not going to do anything with the Ascension and just keep writing formulaic love stories. The 150-200 pages of Dark Skye felt the same. Insert brooding, tortured male chasing his mate for X number of centuries; Insert tarty female running from her mate for X reasons and shake until blended. The last couple of books we either didn't hear from Nix at all or it was a quick nibble only. FINALLY, some indication that that series might actually go somewhere. Nix plays a bigger role in this book and you can finally see how Cole has been directing the players and events to happen in certain orders to fulfill a larger scheme. Maybe? So while it st... morearted out boring and same-ol', same-ol', it finally picked up pace and interest for me. And that's why I gave it 3 stars instead of 4. The last few books have started their stories centered on The Order's prison and escape from that place. And that's kind of cool. We saw them in the prison being tortured then everyone escaped because the island was under attack and one by one we've gotten to read their stories. One thing that's good about Cole's stories is her writing, and she's very good at it. One of the reviews that's on the back of all the books says that "she lets the immortals act like immortals.." And that's true. I may think Melanthe a slut but hey she is a sorcerie and apparently that's what they do. And Thronos has to figure whether he loves her enough to get past that and accept her. Although it did seem like Thronos did more of the compromising in this story than Lanthe did, I guess sometimes that's the way things work out best. I'm actually looking forward to the next book now to see if she moves the story forward even more.
review 2: ENGLISHOverall opinion: Oh boy!!! I loved this book!!!  So so happy I have read it, and so so sad I still have to wait to read next book from this serie. The Prologue is pure delight. It got me there. And the story flows very well. This book will give several emotions, it will make you anxious, curious, happy, and sad, it will make you laugh and get really mad. It also made me cry… well, guess you should be tougher than me.Cover: Still not happy about Kresley Coles’ covers… this one is not so bad, I even believe this one is one of the best from IAD, but still not 5 stars like the book.Edit: Ok nothing special or bad to point out.Target audience: >18 who love paranormal romance.Writing: Great, great, great! Kresley Cole at her best!Steaminess: Hot.Page turner: Fast. Get ready to get anxious and to finish the book and nothing else for the next 2 to 3 days. You won’t be able to stop reading once you begin.Plot: Boy and girl grow apart. As man and woman they met again, and so the challenge begins.Characters: As always, well built. Strong characters with history together and apart with every once on personality justified.Boy (vrekener) meets girl (sorceri). Series: Yes. 14 out of 14 (so far...)Recommend: Hell YES!!!! If you like paranormal romance this book is definitely one of the best, the is the best (at least my favorite :-P ) Have a nice journey reading this one. less
