A Domestic Diva Mystery
review 1: 3.5I actually like this book. it was entertaining and fun to read. I love all the little charactera from Bernie to The Kernel! I'm not in love with the protagonist, but I do love her relationship with her family. The whole family/ extended family thing is one of the main reason I found this book fun to read. Most books cozies I have read include mostly neighbors, friends or just their sisters. Never with a big family, reminds me of my family! hopefully this is all throughout the series. The mystery itself was pretty good as well. I mean, it got me guessing the whole entire time. Seriously, I would have not guessed it. It was a good start to a first book in the series.
review 2: I have heard a lot of good things about Krista Davis' domestic diva series and I was
... more bored with what I was reading so I downloaded the 1st in the series from my library. Overall, I thought it was a decent 1st in a series cozy mystery. Sophie is a very likeable character though I agree with another reviewer where she states she lets people walk all over her. The behavior from her mother, sister and Humphrey are not things I would put up with so it would have been nice for Sophie to stand up for herself. This is a huge pet peeve of mine but the author kept constantly writing in about how Sophie's clothes were too tight and yet all she does is eat in the book or make more food for people. Either don't mention her clothes or make her stop eating. It drives me crazy. It sort of ruins the enjoyment of reading about her cooking escapades when you constantly hear about how tight the main character's pants are!The mystery was well thought out and all of the loose ends tied up nicely. It was a bit complicated but well written. There were a few parts of the book where I thought the author could have explained things better or written things more clearly but overall it was a good book and definitely worth getting out of the library. less

I liked the characters and the recipes and tips. The plot was a little jumbled.
