review 1: I enjoyed this book quite a bit more than the first book of this series. In this book, Sophie's sister, Hannah, is about to get married to her fiance, Craig. Sophie is working like crazy to give Hannah a beautiful wedding, even though she doesn't like Craig and would prefer that Hannah call off the wedding. And then, Craig's ex-wife shows up unexpectedly (Hannah didn't even know he had been married before!), and is subsequently murdered in Natasha's--Sophie's nemesis--back yard. Sophie, of course, suspects Craig, but Hannah feels that Sophie is just jealous of her. Craig's estranged family (father, uncle, and cousin) then also appear to attend the wedding. So, there are other possible suspects. The plot is a little complicated, and there are again too many characters in... more this book, which makes it a bit confusing at times. But, the outcome of the book was actually pretty interesting and unexpected. I'll probably read more from this series when I want something light.
review 2: I usually enjoy the diva series to the tune of five stars but this one I felt was a little weak. You know that feeling you have when you read a good mystery where you for sure think you know who did it then the author rolls out a bunch of new suspects leaving you second guessing? Yeah me too...however you don't get that here. The first suggested plausible suspect is in fact the killer...there are others but the motives are so weak they are laughable. Still Old Town is a charming setting and the characters are well written. You get mad at Natasha and Sophie's bridezilla sister Hannah at all the right moments and your heart will definitely go out to Sophie. This is also a great read for future brides as the diva series always offers helpful entertainment as well as decorating suggestions and the author came up with some real gems for throwing the perfect wedding here. less
