review 1: Denton Little's Deathdate was an original story, and I do not use the word "original" lightly. So many YA novels these days are based on the same premise, but this book was different. Denton Little lives during a time in the US where it has become mandatory to know one's death date (the day one will die). The book surrounds Denton's last days, even his funeral, which everyone attends BEFORE dying. While there are a number of twists and turns and sections where the narrative is drawn out a bit too far, I still had to give the book 4 stars on it's originality alone. It's a breath of fresh air to read about a concept that hasn't been overdone., and I enjoyed it. The humor was also a nice touch. Death is such a morbid subject, but this book met it with humor, and I love... mored that.
review 2: I was so excited To nab an ARC of DENTON LITTLE'S DEATHDATE from a bookseller's conference. It certainly didn't disappoint. In turns funny and heartfelt, suspenseful and futuristic, this book has it all. Fans of WINGER will love Denton, all of his complex feelings, the people who populate his life, his humor and the fact that he's not perfect but he's the perfect hero for this story. I finished the book in a day and wish it hadn't ended. less
