review 1: After Pestilence dies, he comes back as Reseph -- without any memories of who he was or what he had done. Jillian finds him unconscious and naked in the snow and rescues him, at least until forces work to bring out the evil within the man once more.There was a lot to like about this volume in the Demonica series. The apocalypse has been diverted, but may still happen anyway. The world is healing in its aftermath. The demon-fighting agency that broke apart in the previous volume is still in shambles.I didn't entirely connect with Reseph's internal struggle with his evil side because it wasn't grounded in any sort of reality. Ultimately, I'm not sure why he succeeded or what would have made him fail. I'm not even sure why he lost his fight to Pestilence in the previous three... more books. The "mystery" of who the horsemen's father was came as no surprise to me. I'm pretty sure I had it figured out two or three books ago.

Hmm, how do you make an irredeemable character redeemable? Why take away his memory and let him start from scratch of course! I did love the characters in this although already their names escape me so they are not my true loves forever more. I like this book a lot but I'm not sure if this series will go on my reread list. Unlike the books of Kresley Cole and Gena Showalter there is something about these books, I think it is the relentless violence and the fact that nothing ever seems to be over that I don't think I could get back into it. Oh nobody dies but there never seems to be hope which is what my favourite HEAs have.

This is the story of Reseph who has wreaked havoc among the world, heaven and hell as Pestilence. He is severely affected by his evil personality's behavior and attempts to rectify the heinous atrocities he had inflicted. To help him overcome his malfeasance, Jillian is his savior to help him believe in his inherent goodness and defeat the hold Pestilence has on him. Among Reseph's story, Larissa Ion starts to pull together the beginning of Reaver's story which is the next book in this series. This adventure was very entertaining and satisfying, especially if you have read the previous books in this series.

Loved it. I was looking forward to Reseph's story. His was a story of redemption.
