review 1: What really did it for my in this book was the narration. Ms. Sarah Coomes made me feel the story. I felt Grace's (our heroine) desperation and her griping fears. I felt the deep connection between Vincent and Grace and fell in love with them. This was a great example of how a narration makes a good book come alive and makes you a part of the story. I was very surprised by the twists and turns towards the end of the story. Very unexpected! All in all I highly recommend this book to all historical romance junkies like me :)
review 2: I absolutely fell in love with this book and was hooked from the first few pages. What I love most about Laura's books is that she writes in the classic format of the tortured man who refuses love, is hooked up with the female usual
... morely against his will, the battle of attraction, denial and finally after facing obstacles comes happily ever after. This was the first book I ever read of hers and from this I purchased every other book she ever wrote. I usually always rate her with 5 stars mainly because she provides a great story, wonderful historical details, well written character's and she makes you believe in the possibility of romance. I think the only flaw I have ever found is that true life is never as good as her romantic fiction. But then again if it was there would be no point in reading because we would be living it. less
