review 1: I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Edie and Stuart had scores of chemistry and real vulnerabilities and obstacles that they worked to overcome. Watching them build a relationship was delightful and supplemented by the cheekiness of Johanna, Edie's sister. I was only slightly disappointed in the end, because of a response that seemed incongruent with what I've begun to think of Stuart's personality. The dialogue tried to explain the lack of remorse for what happened to the villain and while I certainly wasn't upset by it, no remorse? Hmm, maybe it's my old fashioned Catholic guilt coming into play. In any case, a great read.

... moreirst sight, didn't forget her after so many years, felt the same way & more upon seeing her again, woo'd & courted her so lovingly and respectfully, understood what she went through and never gave up... so many good things he did for her AND YET, I was bored. Maybe I'm feeling the slump these days with reading too much HR, I don't know, this just didn't excite me as much I was expecting it too esp after just reading the title. less
