review 1: The book was a gift from a friend for my daughter. So we finally opened the book together yesterday, and I read it to my daughter. She hasn't understand English yet because I never talk to her in that language, so she just pointed out the beautiful drawings and saying out loud what it is: Kakak! (big sister/big brother), Adik! (little sister), Guguk! (dog) along with several other activities she recognized or she thought she recognized.I was beginning to feel perplexed myself, because the vampire kept popping up along the story and the horror of not knowing what's going to happen next crept on me.So pages were turned and the story progressed in small chapters of simple sentences and lovely water color images. And when we reached the end of the book, I was relieved and my d... moreaughter had quite some fun. She hadn't fully understood what the book is all about, but I'm sure she would catch up when she's older in 2-3 years.
review 2: I was actually rather disappointed with this book. I feel like it didn't involve the vampire enough. The "stories" are pretty unchanged, generally it is that the vampire (or bat) is added to the picture. And then suddenly everyone is friends - so switching from this lurking character to suddenly a participant was not a smooth transition for me as reader. My girls had fun looking at it though since it involved vampires and was at their reading level. So quick read, good for a few moments of fun. less

Though he seems creepy at first, the vampire stalking Dick and Jane turns out to be a fun playmate.

Funny - classic Dick & Jane children's book with a bit of vampire thrown in. LOL
