review 1: I discovered earlier this summer that I had not yet read the 10th book in Lauren Willig's Pink Carnation series, which surprisingly had been published last summer. When I realized that the main character in this book was Ms. Gwen, the Pink Carnation's second-in-command, I raced to the library to get it and happily immersed myself in this fun, easy read. In the past storyline, Ms. Gwen and Col. William Reid are searching for the Lost Jewels of Behar, which in the present day storyline Colin and Eloise are also searching for with Colin's cousin/stepfather Jeremy. As in the norm in this series, the dialogue is witty and several scenes are laugh-out-loud funny. So glad that Ms. Gwen finally got her own book!
review 2: Another great book in the Pink Carnation series
... more! While I did thoroughly enjoy Miss Gwen as the more dominate character of the book, I felt this one lacked something the other stories in the series had. I would of liked more on "The Gardner" aspect of the plot line. Overall great book. Not sure how I feel about the next upcoming book based on the excerpt at the end. Vampires? Really Lauren Willig? Did you have to get sucked into that current phase :( less

This book seemed like an end of this series, which actually is fine with me. I did enjoy it.

Amusing Regency romance/spy thriller. Not at all realistic, but lots of clever dialogue.

Liked hearing more about Miss Gwen, could have used some more Eloise in this one.

it was good. I felt not as strong as her other books.
