review 1: Hmm having been very impressed with her other series, I was all psyched to read this one as one of the complaints I have about that other series is that there's not much going on and I would like to have some mystery and adventure in the mix.I think this might have been an earlier work. For some reason, the insta attraction and interaction in the book seem forced and didn't seem natural. I don't feel the book or the characters much. Neither seem to stand out much and again the characterization seems a bit off. The h seems to be so sober and down I felt pretty dragged down along with her, then for the second half of the book I felt like I'm reading a totally different person altogether with her being all gay and spit fire and the joy of the party, which cannot be what the H... more have fallen for as her earlier shell was the one he knew to start with. Same goes for the H, I love somber deadpan macho alpha, but I just cannot picture him properly as again there seems to be two persons there with the back and forth switch. It could have been me, but I just didn't like this one much, so much so that I abandoned it 90% for another book...The plot is a simple one, but I really must say that it doesn't say much if the best of the best in the world cannot for weeks track down a simple homocidal fan. I appreciate there being some element of danger involved, but I'd have felt the team less inept if they're against one of the pro serial killers or something of that calibre (like an ex militia going wacko). I really get annoyed by the h too, she kept on insisting going out and about when she knows how dangerous it is. I'm all fine with taking charge with your life, but not sure that's the right way to go about it. As she freaks out still with this experience and she still is not equipped to deal with the wacko, it seems real ridiculous to be annoyed and fighting against having bodyguards (seriously, if she needs to take charge of her life, it seems more in line if she wants to arm herself or learn about self defence and the lot than to make a nuisance of herself by arguing about safety issues then breaking down for whatever reason).Besides addressing the h's traumatic past, I really don't see there's much to the book other than a lot of sex and interaction with the family and friends, then a lot of argument over what she should or should not do and frankly I got tired of that after a while though I'm sympathetic to what happened to her.Another huge issue is the protective thing. I cannot believe that with their experience and age, they would not have addressed this pregnancy issue and just time and again have unprotected sex. It really is the most irresponsible thing to do, granted the h thought it's not gonna happen but still I'd have felt better if this was addressed and put out of the way. Anyhow, I just lost it with the h, so even though I should probably have loved the H for being all protective and sweet, I just didn't feel much for this book here.
review 2: Bella Moretti literally bumps into Jason MacBain at a charity auction and she instantly feels a strong sexual pull. Even though she is attracted to Jason, she thinks he is “arrogant ass” and doesn’t hesitate to share her thoughts with him. Jason is used to women falling all over him, so he’s confused by Bella’s negative response. Bella moved back to Chicago a few months ago. She has returned to her hometown to heal and be near her friends and family. She was one of New York’s youngest executive chefs working for a chic prestigious hotel. Bella is a strong, intelligent woman used to dealing with her brothers who are overprotective and macho so she takes Jason protective behavior in stride. It’s easy to lose your heart to Jason, who tragically lost his family when he was fifteen. He has a British cultured accent and grew up in Edinburgh, Scotland in a wealthy family. Emotional entanglements don’t appeal to him. Jason has spent his life protecting people, but giving little thought to his own safety. For the past five years he has run the Chicago IAD branch which is fronted through MAC Securities. IAD exists to wipe out terrorists. It is under the radar intelligence with no rules. UNDER PRESSURE is an exhilarating book filled with romance, intrigue, spies and delightful secondary characters which include Bella’s friends, her family and everyone who works for Mac Securities. This is a testosterone fueled story with lots of hot alpha males, who love nothing better than to trash talk as they banter back and forth. This is the first book in the IAD series and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.Reviewed by Karen for Cocktails and Books less

Love it. Felt so bad for Bella but Jason was so sweet even though he wasn't very sociable.
