review 1: Fullbright writes in a style that feels like a throwback to the classics. She has three narrators, that each that weave their way around the story without fully telling it upfront. This is not a poolside read; Fullbright shows the darker side of human nature while slowly exploring the closet with all the hidden skeletons. There is a reason why the skeletons should stay locked away and The Angry Woman Suite shows you what can happen when they manage to escape.
review 2: This is difficult review to write. There are some things about The Angry Woman Suite that I really liked and other things that I didn’t care for. This is a family saga with a lot of drama and several twists. It’s an intense read and keeps your interest throughout. A lot of things were implied
... more, however, and I didn’t know how much I should read into them. There were also times that I skipped a paragraph or two because of lengthy descriptions not needed for the story, but that’s just a personal preference. The characters are well described and I liked how I learned a lot about how the three storytellers think. All of the characters are deeply flawed and make for an interesting, but sad, story. There were a lot of characters and it was hard for me to keep all of the people straight, especially when the time periods frequently changed. When all is said and done, I’m glad I read The Angry Woman Suite. If I read it again, I would read a paper copy so I could easily flip to the beginning where there is a list of the characters. less
