Mr. Monk
review 1: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. This is the first in the series that I have read. I was a big fan of the TV series and this book followed spirit and flow of the TV series quite well. It was a pleasure to follow the usual characters on an international journey. The Paris travelogue was interesting. I'm sorry I missed seeing the catacombs when we vacationed there. If I get back it will be on my short list. This was a nice breezy read while on vacation on Florida. I will be reading more in the series.
review 2: I started listening to this audiobook, thinking it was Mr. Monk goes to Germany, because the narrator told the story of Monk's psychiatrist going to a convention in Germany. Monk was too upset to help with a murder case in San Francisco, so Natalie made re
... moreservations for them to both go to Germany. This is the second book in the series about the trip. Monk solves several murders in Germany, and Natalie decides she wants a vacation in France. There is a murder on board the flight, and Monk quickly solves it. There are interesting descriptions of the underground Paris. Monk and Natalie visit the catacombs, where millions of bodies were places in the walls. Monk finds a modern day scull, and declares a murder was committed. Monk is fascinated with a self cleaning bathroom. Monk's OCD's are much more pronounced in the books, than they are in the TV shows. I enjoy these books. less
