Mr. Monk
review 1: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Imagine Monk on a cruise ship, and a rather ratty one at that! Poor Natalie has her hands full. She now has her private investigator's license and is Monk's boss. Poor Monk, or at least he thinks so. The [mis]adventure begins with a supposedly solid case on land that nearly unravels and 2 cases at sea. Who is vandalizing the ship? Why does everyone think Natalie is an alcoholic? Where will Monk sleep? Sometimes laugh out loud funny, but most often humorous, you'll really enjoy this book if you were a fan of the tv show.
review 2: My biggest complaint with this book is that Conrad described Monk as understanding and reacting to sarcasm, which Goldberg had previously stated that Monk has zero sarcasm capabilities...there ar
... moree so many contradictions between the two authors, and I think that part of the problem is that Goldberg had done an amazing job with the Monk books before, and Conrad is simply having a hard time filling those shoes. less
