A Hayley Powell Food and Cocktails Mystery

review 1: This time the main character Hayley, acts like a total flake over a country music star who comes to town. Plus she gets into another physical fight with his ex wife (like she did in #1). It's very adolescent and I'm not liking it (about halfway through).Now I've finished it. I have to say it got better. There were many red herrings, suspects that Hayley interrogates, and I didn't figure out the killer till she did.. But I stand by my overall assessment...I don't think I'll read the rest of the series unless I'm desparate for something to read!
review 2: Death of a Country Fried Redneck is really entertaining. After all, who wouldn't want to cook exclusively for their favorite country singer of all time? When Haley finds out Wade Springer is coming to t... moreown, she hatches a plan to be his personal chef while he is in town, but when one of his roadies is killed, she has two missions. One to find the killer and two to continue cooking for Wade. Throw in a jealous ex-wife, a teenage girl with stars in her eyes, one very good looking older young man who writes music and you've got a recipe for murder. This was another wonderful book from Lee Hollis and I'm looking forward to the next one. less
