review 1: I thought this book was going to be quirky and fun with some touching moments, but it ended up sort of exemplifying what I don't like about a lot of the Gen Y contemporary fiction out there. There are just a lot of characters who drift through life, smoking pot and refusing to take responsibility for their actions. Not a lot happens, and there's not a lot to like about the characters. I will give Stein credit, though, for the good relationship between the main character and her parents.
