Lexy Baker Bakery Mystery
review 1: 2.5 stars.I struggled with rating this story. While it was everything I look for in a book, it lacked a certain something that I just can't put my finger on. This was a cute, short and quick read. I liked all the characters. I chuckled a few times and found the story to be enjoyable. I'm definitely not disappointed with the book and I'm glad I read it. But that elusive something is missing and makes the book fall into the 'mediocre' category. I did enjoy the first book in the series a lot better. I have the box set (1-4), so I'll get started on the third book and see if the series can redeem itself.
review 2: I read the first book in this series it a bit too short but with potential. I bought the box set 1-4 of series and decided to see if the writing got bette
... morer in the second book. The concept: a bakery owner that gets herself entangled in solving murders with the help of her grandmother’s ladies detective club, her best friend, and her cop boyfriend. It still has potential but unfortunately, once again wasn't fully developed and included beyond suspension of belief ideas. Reading along it seems that there are things you should have read in the first book, but didn’t like suddenly there is part time person who can watch the store while the ladies sleuth. One hypnotized Lexy with one or two sentences, and getting DNA back in a few hours???? Not gonna happen! So if you are looking for a fast, easy read without much depth, this is the book. less

lol
This book was weak in every respect. The plot was thin, the characters flat.
