Lexy Baker Bakery Mystery
review 1: I finally realized that I had read two other books about Lexy Baker before this one. I recalled one thing that made me think of fingernails screeching across an old slate blackboard--the way that she calls her grandmother, "Nans." It just seems too much like baby talk. In this one, luckily neither she nor her fiance Jack get offed, but there are at least three murders. And yes, there are the three old lady detectives. How does the police force exist without them?
review 2: I've read the previous books in the Lexy Baker series prior to reading "Wedded Blintz." Each book in the series has been light, cute, and a super quick read. I would call the series "mind candy" - no blood or gore, no heavy thinking, no crazy twists, just silly and fun sleuthing. The st
... moreory is far fetched, predictable, and a little corny, but that's what makes it fun. I love Lexi and Jack. I was thrilled they finally tied the knot, but I was a bit disappointed Jack didn't have a bigger role in this book. Nans and her geriatric pose's always add a bit of silliness and fun to each story. This is a great series if you are looking for a quick read while you are on the go, a day at the beach, a rainy weekend, any time you just need a fun light story. less
