review 1: Such an enthralling and riveting read. I'm not too ashamed to admit that my admiration for Leslie Tentler is growing exponentially despite having only read 'Fallen'. Mia Hale's abduction and subsequent escape pulls the Feds into the case and Special Agent Eric Macfarlane, who has a personal interest in this. Together, they need to unravel who is after her before other women succumb to the Collector's wiles. From the very start, we're made to know who the killer is (something that really surprised me) but that in no way detracts from the atmospheric conditions that are detailed in the story.Apart form Ms Tentler's ability to carve out a solid crime thriller plot, I particularly loved how she handles her characters. They are broken, determined and yet never crossing the fine... more line into too stupid to live territory as they battle the simmering the tension and attraction. Mia and Eric are such prime examples of how a mature pairing like this should work and the happy-ever-after is always bittersweet, with the lingering hope of a future rather than a cut and dried one. I'm pretty sure I'll be suffering a book hangover after this. The inability to move on to another novel because I'm still lost in the world of this one after turning the last page is a sensation that doesn't occur too often and when it does, I'd be a damn idiot not to seize it with both hands.
review 2: Talk about a good book. This book was really a great end to the trilogy. I think the reason I liked this book so much is because I recognized a lot of the scenery because I grew up in the Jacksonville area. This book was really accurate on its scenery and direction. While this was a big deal for me with this book, I really liked the characters, the plot, and the mystery and suspense. This was more of a suspense novel than a mystery novel. Again, Ms. Tentler did a good job with this book. The premise for this novel was great. I really enjoyed following the investigation and trying to lead them in the right direction as if the characters could hear me. I wanted to tell them where to look for the killer and how to find him. When everything came to a head, it was excellent. I was racing to get to the end, ready for the killer to be caught and taken down. The romance was also a buildup kind of relationship. Of course, the female character was kick-ass and a fighter. I was like, I want to be her when I grow up. If I ever get taken, I want to fight until I get away. The most interesting scenes for me was the hypnosis scenes. I felt as if I could see everything the writer described. Her scenes are so defined that I could literally feel as if I were in a movie watching it all take place on a screen in my mind. I have always had a vivid imagination, but her writing made it all clear for me. Again, Ms. Tentler did a great job with this novel. I would recommend the full trilogy, and this book in particular. Out of all three books, this one was my favorite, but I enjoyed all of them. less

This book is everything you would want in a romantic suspense novel. I highly recommend it.

Too long-winded, flat characters, and a romance that lacks any sizzle.
