review 1: I was really looking forward to see how this series would end and, as usual, Lex Thomas had some surprises up their sleeves. There were some points where the book seemed disjointed and I wasn't sure why they bothered to develop some characters just to leave them lying flat but overall I was happy with this final installment. I still struggle with whether or not I'd recommend these books to students because they are so incredibly violent but I don't think they're any more violent than some games and shows I've seen teens watch. I think I'd definitely keep the first one on my classroom bookshelves but I'd be mindful of who I'd let check it out.
review 2: I have read a lot of young adult trilogies lately, and to its credit, this one kept me engrossed until th
... moree very end. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but I will say that all of the main characters end up back in the school for one final time. Like the first two, there is a lot of violence and mature content--the violence done by the kids to one another can be very disturbing. Nonetheless, I was overall pleased with the ending, and the final line of the book has stuck with me for a couple days now, leaving me wondering. less

Really disappointing after the first two books. I hated the ending. It felt like a total cop out b

The book kept me reading, which says something, but it was a bit repetitive by the third book.

The last chapter almost ruined this one for me.
