review 1: Jake Dean and Adam Miles work for McKay/Taggart Security Services, everyone bar the profiler is ex special forces. Serena Brooks walks into their office looking for a bodyguard as she has a stalker and the threats are escalating. The police won't help; they think it's just a publicity stunt to help boost Serena's book sales. Serena writes erotic BDSM menage romances, and guess what? Jake and Adam always share a woman and top together, the perfect men for this rather innocent woman with menage fantasies. My description perhaps makes this story seem rather corny, and yes I was thinking, 'yeah right, menage writer just happens to be guarded by the menage pair from the agency' but the book works well. The imagination in the plot is impressive, when stunts from her books start h... moreappening to scare her I wasn't expecting some of it at all. Jake and Adam drew my attention in the first book of this series. They always work together and they know each other so well that they have non verbal conversations which no one else understands. A few looks between them and they know what the other is thinking. They are hilarious together, a great double act. Jake is rather bitter and wary of being conned by a woman but Adam is a romantic who truly believes they'll find their perfect woman. They are adorable together, I couldn't help but love them, even when they when they didn't believe Serena. This author, in my opinion, is similar to Kaylea Cross and Cherise Sinclair. As in their books, we meet a group of people and each person is then the focus of their own book in the series; each book has it's own suspense plot but underlying the whole series there is a deeper running plot which we gradually learn about but isn't resolved until the end. The plots twist and turn continually leaving you unsure who is right, whether the mark is innocent.I definitely will be reading the next book.
review 2: There are so many twists and turns in this story I think I almost got whiplash. Serena is a erotic romance author who is being stalked, only after the police discover her profession and the troubles with her ex-husband they seem to be looking at her as the prime suspect. When Adam and Jake are assigned to her case they are skeptical as well but the threats continue to escalate and both Adam and Jake are finding it hard to keep in professional when it looks like they might have found their dream woman. Ok, who am I kidding? The attraction between the three of them was instant upon their first meeting and it continues to increase especially after Adam and Jake find out that Serena writes menage(with a real plot, kinda like this book. lol). But Adam and Jake have been burned in the past and left by more than one woman who were only looking for a quick fling but not the forever commitment. And while Serena writes steamy imaginative books her own love life is rather null after her ex-husband divorced her when she tried to share her writings.Again like the first book I loved the twists and turns in the plot. In the beginning I had a suspect for the stalker, no real clue or hint was given out it was just a passing thought that Serena had that made me suspect. In the end it was that person, but the author still threw in a huge twist that I never would have guessed. I cant wait to read Liam's story which is next, in this book and the first he was kind of just their as back up but he also served as the voice of reason which was interesting for such a detached character. 5 Stars for this book! less
