review 1: I haven't read a book this quickly in what feels like forever (novellas not included of course). Fantastic, witty, easy-to-follow, romantic, and magical read! I feel more light-hearted than I have in quite a while as if I've just rediscovered the love of reading. "Adult" books spend more time on the nitty gritty than the plot oftentimes, and I often feel the word choices are "dumbed down." This was a refreshingly intelligent Paranormal Romance/Adventure that was a truly great surprise! Starting the second book after closing out this review!
review 2: Honestly this book was disappointing. When I realized this book was about love and genies I was super excited because one of the shows I really like (Once Upon a Time in Wonderland) is also about that. The story tu... morerned out to be not what I was expecting. For the most part the plot was driven by a villain, Xavier. I thought the book would of been more interesting if they delved more into the "genie world" and focused more on Oliver and Margo's relationship. Also I didn't like that conversation about Oliver not really liking Margo, but that he was obligated to like her. The cliffhanger though was intense, and I do want to continue on with this series. less
