review 1: A follow up to 'No time for goodbye' it takes a while to remember what happened in that story. Once again the Archer family gets tied up with Vince Fleming, a thug who has a view on life unlike theirs. Grace, the daughter goes unwilling one an entry into a house with her friend, Stuart who just wants to 'borrow' a car for a joy ride. But things go wrong and she gets out and goes home, but Stuart doesn't. The story builds into intensity as it moves along and it's hard to put down.
review 2: This is the first time I have read a Linwood Barclay book. Amazing plot, novel idea, a page turner. Maybe a tad much on the intertwining of characters, but it makes an interesting read. Read in a day, which says something about keeping me interested. My brain was a bit slow i... moren figuring some of this stuff out, but he keeps things interesting by having some dialogue without names until the very end. less
