review 1: I really loved this and I didn't think I would. I picked it because the blurb sounded ok and well I was sick of shifter stories. I loved mark and I loved Deacon. They both showed growth as a person. And I just loved the humor and snark between Mark and the rest of America. Don't know if Australians really talk like, seemed more British but what do I know, that but it was fun nonetheless. Perfect if you want to read something light but with substance. On a personal note. Don't read this in a public place. I was trying really hard to not laugh out loud and ended up snorting and believe me: it ain't pretty when I do that. So I stopped reading but I couldn't stop grinning like a kid on too much sugar.
review 2: I really loved this book.As an Aussie myself, I was to
... moretally on board with the 'flat whites' and 'rooting' references and the issue of drinking age, and that by itself initially sucked me into the story.I liked the way there wasn't a teacher/student in the sex department (despite the opportunity to put it there given an age difference) and that they had to learn their preferences as their relationship progressed.Even though Mark had a lot of maturing to do (and did), I liked that Deacon also had his own challenges to keep him slightly off balance.I don't 'get' the whole frat thing and frankly am glad I don't. Overall I enjoyed the humour, appreciated the sadness and seriousness but overall loved the romance. less

I think Mark was terribly cute and I loved the Romeo/Juliet dynamic.
