review 1: I saw a review for this book on Goodreads and thought I would read it basis the review. It was just an OK story for me. The central theme of the story is the death of a teenage girl, who was pregnant at the time of her murder. For a mystery / thriller, the pace was a bit slow for me; it seems like I was always waiting for something to happen and when it did, it was not that exciting. An interesting twist at the end when the 20 year old mystery is solved at last, but guess this story was not really my cup of tea. 5 out of 10 for me.
review 2: Lisa Jackson is a good writer, has interesting characters and can spin a tale, except for this one. Where was the editor who should have gotten rid of repetitive sentences? Where was the editor to turn to Lisa and say ... more"Hon, this is fine, but you should trim this way down". Too many false leads, too many 'could it be this guy or this guy or this gal or that handyman or…." You get the picture. I don't like to have my intelligence insulted and I prefer books to be edited. I don't expect the writer to edit them, I expect the editor to do so. I also expect the editor or a proofreader to say "hey, Lisa, please do us a favor and not insult us with these false leads that go no where and get annoying after a while". So I wouldn't recommend this book. Can ya tell? Although again, I feel Lisa Jackson is a good writer, usually. less
