Sometimes there’s no reason… if that’s one thing I totally get in Darkness Matters is that everything matters, the good, the bad, … just everything.
Once again, Jay McLean provides a story full of angst, darkness with tortured characters who for their young age went through a lot, and I have to say she excelled in it.
I read it, totally captivated by the story, reading bits of fractured and tortured souls, wanting to know where it would lead me. I have to say that the turmoil of emotions drove me crazy. Throughout the story, living through the characters’ pain and sorrow, I couldn’t stop to have all these questions in my head, and mostly a feeling of unfinished story. I’m just confused and conflicted.
After all the emotional torture, I wouldn’t even imagine that ending, leaving me with more questions. I didn’t want a happy ending with chocolate and flowers but I really think that Andromeda and Noah deserved an amazing ending, more developed, something that would have let them shine so bright in the dark… I’ve found these stars. But too late. They deserved so much more to me.
It was just like an opening, leaving me hanging on. A little sad and disappointed.
There were too many revelations at one time, too rushed, too brutal. Too many questions. One thing for sure is that the author can definitely write emotional stories that goes straight to the heart, about tortured souls and made them so interesting and beautiful, but damn I felt like something was missing.
