review 1: I was enjoying this story and romance so much... until the ending, I thought it fell short. It just threw out loose strings everywhere, for the next book, but it made this one feel... off. I didn't understand why when the enemy kept getting passed out by powers why our good guys didn't take advantage and kill them when they were down; when they are so evil and outnumber our good guys and they came to kill them... again!
review 2: Rebecca "Becca" Burns is a astrobiologist for NASA. She has just returned home from Germany where she was getting expermintal treatment for lung cancer. When she arrives home she sees someone waiting on her front pouch for her. She is shocked beyond words when she sees who is waiting for her, Sterling. Just seeing him sends her b... moreack to the last time they were together when they were both in high school. Becca has aways had a crush on Sterling so she was thrilled when he asked her out on a date. Becca waited for several hours but Sterling never showed up. Sterling Jeter is one of the super-soldiers know as the Renegades. They fight another group of super-soldiers called the Zodius. The Zodius want to rule the world and they see humans as less than nothing. They have invented a drug called Ice, when a human takes it for the first time they become instantly addicted and if they don't get their next fix they die during the withdraw. The leader of the Zodius want Becca to help them redefine the drug so that people stop dying during withdraw. Knowing Sterlings history with Becca the Renegades are hoping he can talk her into coming to their side and helping to find a way to beat Ice. Before Sterling can explain to Becca what is going on they are attacked and taken captive. In order to save Sterlings life Becca is forced to indigest Ice herself. When they manage to escape Becca starts showing some strange and powerful new abilities. Sterling has finally got his second chance with Becca he has aways wanted. He vows not to lose her to the Zodius soliders or to death, either from the Ice addiction or from the cancer. This is the second installment of Ms Jones's Zodius series. It surpasses the promise of the first book. The action is non-stop and will keep you on the edge of your seat. The romance between Sterling and Becca is hot. They have both loved each other since high school and now they have a chance to let that love grow. I just love this series, if the first two books are anything to go by, this will be a great long running series, I hope. Be on the look out for the next installment, The Danger that is Damion which is stated to be out May 1st. less
