review 1: Jill Ruspoli is moving forward with her life after a devastating divorce. Her work as a pediatrician is hectic but fulfilling, she's newly engaged to a kind and loving medical researcher, and her daughter is finally happy again and doing well in middle school. But when Jill's distraught ex-stepdaughter Abby shows up on her doorstep with news of her ex-husband’s death from an apparent overdose, her life is thrust into turmoil once again. After reading Don't Go I was a little disappointed in the book. Don't get me wrong, it was great, but it wasn't as good as Don't Go. I never really felt connect to Jill although I understood her dilemma. When you divorce someone, you don't divorce their children. Where is the line between caring about your ex-step children that yo... moreu helped raise, and the new life you are trying to build for yourself?
review 2: Unlike a lot of what I assume are younger readers I did not hate this book. Yes, some of the conversations were stilted and the protaganist's fiancee acted like a douche bag for awhile (and not terribley logically) but yes, you can live with someone for awhile and not know everything about them. And her feelings about her step-daughters were entirely realistic. If your were a mom you'd understand. You don't have to give birth to someone to love them and that love doesn't stop just because you haven't seen them for awhile. If you went to college and didn't see your mom for 5 months (or longer) did you stop loving her because you weren't seeing her? And I could hear my daughter call for me in my sleep. As for padiddels, my husband recognized the word right off with a slightly different spelling than Scottoline's. In his case when he was a teenager if you were driving with a date if you saw a car with one headlight, the girl had to kiss the boy. less

It was so slow at first, but I actually liked it. I know others said it dreadful....but I loved it!
