review 1: easy read (or listen-to on cds)... i like lisa scottoline's style of writing and typically enjoy her books, except for her endings. this book touches probably every person's fear of facing a one-second change-of-life consequences of a decision (here when you allow your 16-year-old to drive 15 minutes after curfew and he hits a person with the car) and whether to own it or deny it, combined with wanting to protect your child.
review 2: I really enjoyed this book, although it was tough to read parts because of the anguish I felt from the suffering family. I don't agree with the decision made early in the story, but can understand wanting to do whatever possible to protect a child, but it still wouldn't have been my choice. I may recommend this to my book club ne

Once you begin lying, things just get crazy. Moral of this story, don't lie.
