review 1: A great sequel to the Battle Sylph... it'll keep you on the edge of your seat with the never ending action, excitement, and the hope that love will conquer all... especially if that love is coming from a centuries old battler... it was nice to see the other kingdoms and how Sylph Valley is interacting with them but also to travel all the way to a kingdom with a floating island and that needs saving just as much as the kidnapped Lizzy they hold hostage there... Leon and Ril were the more interesting master/battler combo in the first... where most battlers hated their former master Ril both hated and loved his and in this book you get to see further into their relationship and that was probably my favorite part of this book... you begin to see more of what a relationship for... more a battler to his master really means... it's deep and loving and in some ways almost childlike and it made the series all the more real for delving into that... i can't wait to read the next book that's for sure...
review 2: I like this series. V. different. Ril is Heyou's complete opposite - an older, restrained Sylph - and he's managed secretly to make his master's daughter a master too. So, when she gets kidnapped, he's able to track her. Makes things interesting though since this essentially makes her his mate. Daddy isn't too happy but oh well; Ril is a far better choice than the stalkerish boy who has elevated himself to her boyfriend in his mind (she's not to sure about him BEFORE he bolts and lets her get kidnapped.) less
