review 1: This is like the 5th time I've reread this series, and I still like it every time. Some stories I like more than others, but I still like the characters in this book. I admit sometimes the story dragged on at times in each of the stories, but each individual story was action packed and full of unique and well written characters that made each story interesting. It was nice to go back into the world of Night World with vampires, witches, shapeshifters, Old Souls, etc, and the soulmate principle. If anything, the unique world building pulls you in, and you sit back and enjoy the ride. Unfortunately, this series was written in the 90s, and it's been more than a decade since the last book came out and still no sight of the final book in the series Strange Fate and of when it's... more coming out. Needless to say, this series is unique and it was done way before all the vampire craze happened so it's not cheesy or a marketing scheme like the recent books that came out as a cause of the vampire fame. This series is genuine and it was one of my favorites that I have read.

This book is interesting out of all the books in the series because it finally has a continuous plot through all 3 stories, but at the same time it's 3 different stories. Things are starting to change in the Night World. The apocalypse is drawing near and the human power era is about to end. The Night World is split in half between the people who want to save the humans(Day Breakers)and The rest of the night world council. Those two are battling to find the 4 Wild Powers that can save them from the apocalypse. Day Breakers don't want it to come; The night world council does. My favorite story out of the three would be Witchlight because the main character is a shapeshifter. She is a panther and whenever the author is describing her or her actions, I can imagine how graceful she is and it's really awe-inspiring. Just like the rest of the series, this book has a romance factor of finding an unlikely soulmate and hoping for the best that love won't get in the way of the mission at hand.

I enjoyed most of the series but this book kind of lagged and toke me quite a while to finish I felt as though it was just thrown together with not much thought I developed no attachment to the characters as I did 1 and 2 but all in all it was a good book. I wish she would finish them it left off in an odd spot. Since I did like the series I rated it a three stars. I'm not a big L.J Smith fan though.
