review 1: The story really picks up in the Captive Pt. 2 and The Power. While I was annoyed with how mousy Cassie was in the last two books, it was really nice to see her grow and become more confident in these ones. Still, the cheesyness of Diana’s character and blandness of Adam’s annoys me to no end. I seriously wanted Cassie to end up with Nick because he had more depth to him. And then the ending made me cringe. It’s not that I don’t enjoy a happy ending, but if the character does get a happy ending, I’d like it to be somewhat realistic. The way Diana kind of just handed Adam to Cassie without even batting an eye really bugs me. If she cared that little about giving him up, what the heck was the point of this love triangle? Adam and Cassie could’ve been making out i... moren front of her and I doubt she’d even care. Overall, I liked the Secret Circle. The mystery and magic really were addicting and the mythology of these witches was great. But there were things about these books that annoyed me so much.
review 2: Luego del sabor agridulce que me dejó el primer libro, debo decir que el libro logró superar las pocas expectativas que le tenía, superó a su antecesor, pero sigue siendo una historia nada innovadora. La mejora de la historia se ve porque ahora tenemos un nudo: hay un villano (Black John), conocemos mejor acerca de su orígen, el del circulo secreto y los antiguos linajes de brujas. Me agradó que los personajes adultos cobren mayor importancia y conozcamos mejor el pasado de los ancestros de Cassie y sus amigos.Con respecto a Cassie, mejora su actitud en el libro, pero solo a duras penas, mientras que el resto de los personajes permanece igual, o empeora. Eso sí, me agrado más el personaje de Nick porque llegamos a conocerlo mucho mejor en esta parte, y el de Deborah. Con respecto a Faye, que había sido el único personaje que me había gustado en el anterior libro, en este pierde protagonismo y en mi opinión, desmejora. El final no me convenció; primero porque esperaba otra cosa, y segundo, porque todo el libro es investigación, investigación e investigación paraque la "lucha" dure una hoja. No. Para cerrar, es un libro que es mejor al primero, pero, sin embargo a la historia le sigue faltando "chispa", a pesar de su originalidad y que la autora posee varios recursos que podría haber utilizado mejor. Recomendaría esta serie sólo para los lectores poco exigentes y que no buscan nada innovador. less
